The day Toshiba announced that they are pulling the plug on their HD-DVD players, I was sad that I bought a desktop media computer with HD-DVD drive. After a day or two many of Toshiba’s players are marketed as upconverting DVD players rather than HD-DVD. This is one use where I can use standard DVDs and with upconverting quality I can see near-HD experience of all my already existing DVD collection.
