Good news for those who receive spam text messages. Timberland is the company this time that will pay for settlements for sending spam text messages to the mobile phone users. Facebook did text message settlements in 2007 when a similar settlement is filed by a victim that she received text messages with explicit comments and other upsetting content and had to pay 10 cents each time. Most of cell phone users don’t have data plans and a text message when received is charged as per the rates set by cell phone carriers like says Verizon charges few cents per message.

This should be a good lesson to all “test message spammers” who are targeting cell phone users with these marketing tactics.
