The news being floated very well in advance by many top retailers that they are opening midnight to rake some savings from shoppers in the weak economy. Usually the announcements will be made during a week time of Black Friday 2011 – November 25 2011. Note last year many retailers like Sears and ToysRUs to sneak away shoppers started opening stores on Thanksgiving Day too. Expect many retailers to follow the herd in 2011. The list so far includes in the order of announcments – Target, Macy’s, Kohls and Best Buy.
Target Opens for BlackFriday 2011 Shoppers on midnight Thursday November 24, 2011
First time in its history announced that its stores will open at midnight on Thanksgiving Day. November 24, 2011 midnight rush for Target gold starts. The stores will stay open for 23 hours and close at 11 p.m. Friday, November 25.
Macy’s Opens All Stores on midnight Thursday November 24, 2011
As a trial run last year, Macy’s opened eight stores at midnight on Thanksgiving Day. The rest of the stores were open at 4 a.m. The midnight openings were successful which led Macy’s to go for all stores opening at midnight.
Macy’s have gone a step ahead of Target and gave sneak preview of its BlackFriday 2011 deals- “40 percent off select coffee makers, tea kettles and espresso makers, and a $65 Justin Bieber limited-edition fragrance gift set, which includes a 3.4 ounce eau de parfum spray and the singer’s new holiday CD. Kohl’s Department Stores opens at 12 a.m. on Black Friday
