Comparative review of Indian cricket those days and in these days

In those days, Indian cricket was interesting and always had edge either to win or save. why was this all round game dedication missing in Indian cricket team in 2012.

Cricket Nostalgia :

Bowling: Bowling was dominated by spin trio – Prassana (attacking bowler), Bedi (Economical bowler) and Chandrasekhar (Terrifying leg spinner). All these bowlers were nightmare to the rival teams.Afterwards new find fast bowler Kapil Dev frightened the rival team with his all round display – Bowling , batting and fielding.Mohindar Amarnath, Madanlal, Binny and Gowri were all well noted dominators of Indian cricket.

Batting: Gavaskar, Wadekar, Viswanath, engineer, Chouhan, Srikanth, Azharuddin, Ravi Sastry and Vengsarkar.

Fielding : Superb fielding by Eknath Solkar particularly with forward short leg for catches.Specialized fielding was there in blood for all team members. Venkata Raghavan another great fielder in gully, useful offspinner and good batsman. Wadekar best fielder in the slips and excellent beautriful stroke maker with square leg boundaries – not a century maker by himself but a century preventer for rival team.Kapildev won matches with his fielding.Azharudding bought glamor to the Indian fielding.Srikanth, Binny, Madanlal and Mohinder Amarnath are other outstanding fielders who prevented fours and sixers of rival team and saved India many times.

Opening Partnerships : Gavaskar and Chetan Chawhan, Gavaskar and Engineer, Gavaskar and SRikanth – the best opening pair that India ever produced.

Wicket Keeping: Engineer and Kirmani are lightening and flashy wicket keepers of those days.
